How to clean your caravan or motorhome like a professional: (including the roof)
Important Notes
Weather: It is always best to try to clean your caravan or motorhome when the weather conditions are suitable.
Avoid cleaning when the weather is:
-
Too hot/sunny to prevent any chemicals drying on the surfaces.
-
During heavy rain/winds
-
Too cold (risk of water freezing).
Space: Ensure there is plenty of space around your motorhome or caravan for cleaning
Angle: It can be quite difficult to clean the roof of your caravan or motorhome when it is on a level surface. This causes pooling of water in the centre of the roof and can be difficult to wash off. A slight angle always helps when cleaning the roof.
01
How to clean your caravan or motorhome (including the roof)
Pre rinse your caravan or motorhome with water before applying cleaning products
This is very important as you should not be applying any chemical to your caravan or motorhome without pre-wetting the surfaces.
02
Start with the roof.
Use a snow foam gun to apply cleaning chemicals (such as Autosmart Highfoam Power) to your roof. Access can be made using our multi purpose caravan and motorhome roof cleaning ladder.
Use a telescopic water fed pole/brush the brush in a agitate the dirt and algae on your roof. With our 18ft extendable brush, you can reach up to 95% of your roof from one location.
(make sure to check the sides regularly when cleaning the roof to ensure run off does not dry, rinse off occasionally. DO NOT allow any products to dry)
03
Rinse off the roof
Use our caravan and motorhome pressure washer to rinse off all the dirt and cleaning products from your roof.
To do this, you will need to use a 40 degree nozzle attachment and turn down the pressure on the pressure control valve to prevent any water ingress.
Note: You must turn down the pressure on our caravan/motorhome pressure washer using the control valve (turn left to reduce the pressure), also use the correct nozzle jet for rinsing.
04
Once the roof is cleaned. Carry out the same process as above to clean the sides of your caravan or motorhome.
Pre-wet the surface. Apply a caravan/motorhome cleaning product using a snow foam gun. Brush in to agitate the lift the dirt and algae. Once all surfaces are cleaned, rinse off with water using pressure washer at low pressure and 40 degree nozzle jet attachment.
(Note: Clean one section at a time or a small section you can manage).
